This week’s Festival of Frugality is up at FrugalBabe. I enjoyed reading many of the articles, and love the picture of the smiley face made of coins!

Since I’m always happy to read a good list of ways to save money, I was glad to find
20 Ways to Save Time and Money in the Kitchen at Cash Money Life. This list has some excellent advice.

The psychology of money and spending fascinates me, and there are a couple of good posts that articulate some points quite well. The first one is Quest For Four Pillar’s When Quality is an Illusion. Very good advice.

And the second one is Glowing Face Man’s Beware of Over-Justifying in finances and life.

This is another facet of the psychology of money that is documented in the book
Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes And How To Correct Them: Lessons From The New Science Of Behavioral Economics. The book is one that I recommend, particularly if you are interested in the psychology of money and economics.

I was pleased that my article, Can Quicken Make You Frugal?, was included in the festival. Thanks, FrugalBabe, for putting together a great festival.

The Carnival of Money Stories, up at The Copyeditor’s Desk, has more sage advice mixed into some interesting stories. Since eating out is one of my guilty pleasures, I’m always looking for ways to control the cost. The Smarter Wallet offers a good list of tips in Eat Well for Cheap! How To Eat Out For Less

At Prime Time Money, Millionaires in the Making: The Rodrigueses, there is an interesting profile of a young couple working towards becoming millionaires and retiring early.

Uncommon Cents asks Is Brand Loyalty Sensible?. A good question! I can be guilty of remaining loyal to brand for too long - this is valuable advice.

And I am happy to say that my article, The Tradeoffs we Make to Retire, also appears in the carnival. Thank you to The Copyeditor’s Desk for the hard work that went into putting this fine carnival together.
