I hope you’ll join me this morning in reviewing two really good resources.

First, the Carnival of Money Stories - Olympic Hangover Edition is up at Not the Jet Set. There are some really good money stories here; I particularly enjoyed these:

  • No More Spending.net : Cold turkey on magazines and confessions
  • fiscal liberty: Here is a Way to Stop Yourself from Making Impulse Purchases
  • The Digerati Life: Sell Your House, Downsize and Give The Proceeds To Charity?
  • And I’m really pleased that my article, Starting Early on Early Retirement has been included.

And next is the Festival of Frugality #140 - The Frugal Quotes Edition hosted by FIRE Finance . I really like the way this festival was put together, and enjoyed the frugal quotes sprinkled throughout. Way to go, FIRE Finance! I enjoyed many of the articles, and will highlight a few of my favorites:

  • SavingAdvice.com: Please Stop The Treat Bag Madness
  • Living Well on Less: Just say no to the birthday lunch
  • Miss Thrifty: Bowing to Frugal Grandma
  • The Family Wallet: What Can You Downsize to Save Money?
  • And I am really happy to say that my article, Close Call: A Valuable Reminder to Shop Around (and How I Saved $675) was included in the festival.

Many thanks to Not the Jet Set and FIRE Finance for the hard work that goes into putting together a carnival or festival.
